Description
I have a 1.5 year old Australian Shepherd Mix female dog that is fixed. She is up to date on shots as well. She needs the perfect home that knows this breed. She does NOT do well with cats (we have 5 and she will kill them I know it). We got her from a family member that was trying to save her and like us were trying to keep from having to have her euthanized. She is aggressive at first and WILL bite, until she is ok with you. I sat with treats and talked to her and she eventually sniffed me and let me touch her. She does great now. She took up with my parents but she is too high energy for them. My daughter is 7 and loves her and she is great with her (she did well with my nieces as well), but my daughters best friend is her kitty and this dog goes after her kitty. If you know this breed she does the intent stare and creeps up and can not be called back when after a cat. She is not a dog that I have been able to work with (life is too busy) to get her used to people who enter our home, or if I have her on a leash. She gets the muzzle off that I have sadly. She is not going to be easy. I am trying to avoid having to put her down. I don't know of a rescue that could help either. I am at a loss! Please respond if you are interested in trying to work with this dog. Her name is Rosie and really is sweet once she is ok with you. I don't need hateful messages, I tried my best to save this dog and she has proven to be more than I can handle and that is hard for me to admit. I haven't ever failed like this before. She is kennel trained and house broken.
