Vaccine: "don't have a vaccine for SARS, Bird Flu, Ebola, or a host of diseases that arose during previous administrations." -Sars was brought under control in Asia -Avian flu viruses do not normally infect humans. -The Ebola 2014-2016 was confined to West Africa, haven't heard about any other outbreaks. The Global Health Security and Biodefense unit — responsible for pandemic preparedness — was established in 2015 by Barack Obama’s National Security Advisor, Susan Rice. The unit resided under the National Security Council (NSC) — a forum of White House personnel that advises the president on national security and foreign policy matters. In May 2018, the team was disbanded and its head Timothy Ziemer, top White House official in the NSC for leading U.S. response against a pandemic, left the Trump administration, the Washington Post reported. Some members of the global health and security team were merged into other units within the NSC. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trump and Taxes: Sounds great, but keep in mind this all expires in 2025. One down side: The law changed the measure of inflation used for tax indexing. The IRS' use of the consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U), was replaced with the chain-weighted CPI-U. The latter takes account of changes consumers make to their spending habits in response to price shifts, so it is considered to be more rigorous than standard CPI.15 It also tends to rise more slowly than standard CPI, so substituting it will likely accelerate bracket creep. The value of the standard deduction and other inflation-linked elements of the tax code will also erode over time, gradually pushing up tax burdens. The change is not set to expire. https://www.investopedia.com/taxes/trumps-tax-reform-plan-explained/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's easy to give credit or blame for just one president, but congress is a significant player. Market conditions cause gas price fluctuations, not elected officials. I've never heard of a president calling a WW2 Veteran a "loser" other than Trump. The article by Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg reads: "Trump remained fixated on McCain, one of the few prominent Republicans to continue criticizing him after he won the nomination. When McCain died, in August 2018, Trump told his senior staff, according to three sources with direct knowledge of this event, ‘We’re not going to support that loser’s funeral,’ and he became furious, according to witnesses, when he saw flags lowered to half-staff. ‘What the f--- are we doing that for? Guy was a f---ing loser,’ the president told aides." https://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/elections/2020/09/08/president-donald-trump-john-mccain-loser-fact-check/5741070002/ https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/19/trump-john-mccain-fan-1227632 https://www.forbes.com/sites/jackbrewster/2020/09/04/trump-says-he-never-called-mccain-a-loser-heres-the-evidence-he-did/?sh=5644c3ee25cc ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I've never heard a president mocking a disabled reporter until trump did. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-34930042 https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2018/05/11/donald-trump-paralympics-disabled-tough-watch-column/599142002/ https://www.reuters.com/video/watch/id113838798 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I see where you're coming from, but name calling is for the weak.
