Entrepreneur and Real Estate Owner is looking for a professional handyman who will service and maintain 8-10 commercial storefronts in Chicago (mostly on near north side) on an as-needed basis. Tenants include restaurants, hair salons, real estate brokerage office users, fitness studio, dry cleaner, etc. From time-to-time the tenants will have projects separate from the landlord work.
In addition there is a hands on project for the next 3-5 months on a renovation project that is going to require the time of a skilled handyman including carpentry, electrical, basic HVAC maintenance, basic plumbing, assembly of items, hanging ad mounting items on walls, moving furniture, painting, drywall, patching, dealing with water sealing and water issues and other general handyman services.
Existing Handyman has been with our firm for 7 years and is moving to be with his family out of state.
Work will require maintenance and projects that vary from time to time. Important that candidate is skilled in various types of work and also can be available when emergencies arise to assist. Ideal candidate will learn the details of the different properties, have keys to the properties, and be available to service them, as needed. Ideal candidate will have their own transportation.
Pay will be between $25 and $30 per hour based on experience. Work amounts will vary based on needs of buildings. Ideal for someone that has their own business and other small / mid sized clients.
For the next 3-5 months there could be about 20-30 hours per week.
Interested candidates should provide credentials. All applicants would be required to provide references and a background check prior to being hired.
