Description
I'm an out of state musician that dealt with a woman named Terri Janning in Camarillo, claiming she was selling her dead husband's guitars. She posted them at very high prices, much higher than normal for what they were, and provided false and misleading info on them. She always sent small pics so you couldn't make out any detail. When I asked for larger ones, she kept sending small pics. She sent the dimensions and weight of the guitars and told me I would have to pay shipping. She demanded a cashier's check as the only form of payment and wouldn't accept a wire transfer, which would have had her bank's information as proof of receipt of funds. I even found someone willing to pick the guitars up for me once she got paid and that's when she suddenly backed out, saying it was too hard for her to ship them. I'm sure she would have said that after she got my money.
She had wrong info about the guitars posted on CL, but pled ignorance about them, which was the first red flag. Small pics, second red flag. No serial number on one of the guitars she wanted $6,000 for, BIG 3rd red flag.
She led me on for 5 days, telling me we had a deal on two of her husband's 6 guitars, but when she realized I wasn't going to send her a cashier's check and, instead, wanted to do an immediate wire transfer, she backed out. She's a scammer that most likely doesn't own ANY guitars. I dodged a bullet and am posting to help others dodge that same bullet. I have her address and phone number, in case you come across her and need to know all her information to verify that it's her.
