We are currently seeking qualified applicants for a Materials Coordinator! A Materials Coordinator is defined as an individual who can maintain clean and organized job sites, move material and equipment to and from work locations, and perform initial site preparations and clean up. The ability to perform basic carpentry tasks is also required. Company Goal: To develop an individual to take ownership of equipment, facilities, vehicles, and materials – all while providing as needed support for active jobsites. Overall Responsibilities: Assist Lead Carpenters or Project Managers with customer satisfaction, carpentry labor, material handling, site preparations, mobilizing dump trailers to sites and trash transfer facility, and job site cleanup. Specific Duties: 1. Pull material in and out of inventory and track long-term inventory items 2. Organize, clean, and repair all tools and equipment to ensure proper operating condition 3. Maintain a running log of location of all Harth Builders tools and equipment 4. Deliver preparation materials to job sites on start dates; set up site preparation materials, including job site signs, floor coverings and dust walls 5. Perform project clean up near completion of project and return reusable items to shop 6. Pick up and deliver project related material 7. Provide carpenter’s assistance on active jobsites as required 8. Correctly and safely drive a cargo van with a trailer attached, including dumping at a trash transfer facility 9. Assist, as needed, in maintaining a clean and organized shop 10. Assistant is responsible for accurately completing an electronic timecard daily. The timecard must be complete and accurate. No checks will be issued without a timecard. 11. Perform all assigned tasks to the best of your ability. Your conscientious performance is extremely important as it reflects on the quality of the entire company. 12. Be responsible for your own safety as well as the safety of your coworkers. 13. Always behave in a professional manner. Report any unsafe conditions to the Lead Carpenter. 14. You must have and be responsible for your own tool belt. You must have the following tools: • 30-foot tape • Chisels • Hammers (framing and trim) • Nail set • Pry bar • 50’ extension cord • Utility knife • Speed square • Screwdrivers (1 slot & 1 Phillips) • Chalk line • Nail puller • Leather work gloves • Tool belt • Cordless drill, drill bits and misc. drivers • Valid drivers license Job Requirements Education – High School Graduate Experience - Minimum of six months in some type of construction. Knowledge Basic knowledge of residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment and materials. Minimal ability to read blueprints. Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to take and compute measurements. Able to safely tow and back up a trailer Interpersonal and Communications Skills Able to understand verbal and written instructions and respond to emails and texts messages. Adept at establishing relationships with all parties involved in the construction process that facilitate harmonious working relationships during project and permit prompt resolution of problems and conflicts as they occur. Organizational Skills Able to organize tasks for completion alone or with help. Able to complete and fulfill paperwork required for personal time sheets and other checklists and documents. Problem Solving Able to tell when to ask for help. Working Conditions 75% of time is spent working at job sites. Driving is required. Physical Job requires ability to perform tasks on all areas and aspects of construction project. Requires ability to climb ladders for heights of up to 60 feet and crawl for distances of 50 feet. Job requires ability to work with tools, lumber, and materials. Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required.
