Description

Florida was a destination hope for many runaway slaves 50 years before the Civil War because it was Spanish territory. The runaways bonded with the Seminole Indians who were being rounded up and moved west of the Mississippi on the Trail of Tears. More history you don’t know. (Police forces were initially formed to return runaway slaves. Citizens Arrest laws were expressly for white citizens to “arrest” escaped slaves!) John Horse was a slave leader that joined with the Seminoles, who fought and defeated the US Army! Here’s some history you need to know. http://johnhorse.com/index.html “ Since 1860, scholars have subscribed to the conventional wisdom that no major slave rebellions took place in the U.S. after 1831. This mistaken notion has many sources, but it mainly stems from a southern tradition that sought to bury all memory of slave rebellions. The tradition nearly erased the Black Seminole uprising from national consciousness. Indian aspects of the Florida war entered national history, as did the maroon elements to a lesser extent, but not the slave uprising. And yet evidence of its existence abounds, in military records, newspapers, plantation journals, legal petitions -- even Southern pleas for help in quelling the violence.” You cannot erase history no matter how much you try, there is always a record, even if it is just spoken throughout time. The Confederacy has been the largest celebration of losers of all time, it’s time for Truth and a stop to bullshit. The Truth is that racists want to cover up any white role in the slavery industry. They want to pretend that the slave owners were just loving employers giving opportunities to immigrants. Nothing is further from the truth. You cannot ever cover-up the horrible events and facts of slavery. “If black children are old enough to experience racism today, then today’s white children are old enough to learn about it!”
