JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician oversees and supports all maintenance of Opportunity Council facilities, Grounds, and agency vehicles throughout Whatcom County. Plans, coordinates or performs maintenance activities to keep all facilities and grounds in good order. Performs quarterly inspections of all properties. Serves as primary contact for routine work and emergency situations. Assist with activities related to keeping Opportunity Council vehicles in working order and supplied with safety documents in case of accident. Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and contractors who provide services in support of facilities. Builds and maintains relationships with staff and/or community partners. Maintains program/service records. Performs data entry and tracking. Maintains specialized knowledge and/or certifications. Assesses needs based on program requirements. Provides technical training and education to practitioners, community partners, or clients. Performs project management. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. May require working on rooftops and other potentially hazardous areas, such as around electrical wiring. May be exposed to dusty, wet, and muddy environments. Requires travel within the agency’s service area; occasionally requires driving in adverse weather conditions. *COVID-19 Vaccination required prior to start of employment. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Two year degree or specialized training in a related field, Two years of experience, or Year for year experience to replace degree Valid Washington State Driver’s License at time of hire.
