Description

Hi and thanks for reading this! First things first: we are *not* asking for free housing. :) Short version: would you consider renting your space to us? Long version: We are a family of 5 (plus one non-shedding 30lb doodle), who desires to spend 3-6 weeks in Coeur d’Alene this summer during my husband’s 3 month Sabbatical. We live in Oregon, and as you may imagine, the pressure in church ministry has been unreal during these past 2 years. Every 7 years, our church graciously offers full-time pastors a summer-long period of rest from ministry, intended for respite, reflection, and renewal. This summer it is my husband’s turn! We lived in Coeur d’Alene for several years after my husband finished graduate school, and absolutely fell in love with it…the beauty, the people, the kindness, and the snowblowers (jk 😉). We brought our first born home from KMC in 2011, and shortly thereafter we were enticed back to Oregon to be near our families once again. Coeur d’Alene is forever in our hearts, and as soon as we heard we would be given an extended period of rest, we immediately knew that we wanted to come back to CDA. We would like for our children to get to experience what it is like to live as locals in this special place. Would you consider renting your home/cottage/daylight basement/mother-in-law quarters/cabin to us for 3-6 weeks this summer? We are not looking for free lodging, and having been locals, we know that CDA is “the place to be” in summer. However, the 5-digit Airbnb price tag for 4 weeks is not something we can swing. We have owned several homes and several rentals (2 of which were in Cd’A), and we will take care of your space as if it were our own. Pleas let us know if this is a conversation you are willing to entertain. Thank you so much for your consideration and feel free to pass along to anyone you think may be interested. ~Katie~ (Yep, never changed the number from when we moved to Liberty Lake for grad school in Spokane in 2004!)
