All day workshop covering school bus rescue (AM) and gasoline tanker response (PM), presented by retired Battalion Chief Leigh Hollins
School Bus Rescue - This class is for all 1st Responders who may respond to a school bus involved in a crash or rollover. Bus types, construction, features & hazards will be discussed, and many actual incidents will be reviewed with scene pics and video.
Gasoline Tanker Response - This class will address the various components & systems of the MC306/406 tanker trailer, the most common Haz-Mat transport tanker in the nation. Discussion items will include the chemical properties associated with the most common transported commodities and an overview of the tanker’s various safety features as well as a review of various incidents and how to handle emergencies involving spills & fires.

The Estes Valley Fire Protection District has been protecting the Estes Valley since 1907. The District employs seven career employees and 40 volunteer members. The department serves 70 square miles in the Town of Estes Park and unincorporated Larimer County. Estes Valley Fire shares mutual aid agreements with the Allenspark FPD, Pinewood Springs FPD, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Lyons FPD, Glen Haven VFD, Big Elk VFD, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Larimer County Emergency Services.
