Cinematographers Nara Garber and Chris Scarafile shares stories from behind the camera A story well told can open hearts and change minds. While it is primarily film directors and screenwriters who are given credit for a captivating narrative in film, it is the cinematographer who brings this vision to life. Join cinematographers Nara Garber and Chris Scarafile for an evening of stories from behind the camera. Garber is a documentary filmmaker and cinematographer with a focus on social issues, with credits for award-winning films for networks such as HBO and PBS, among them End of the Line: The Women of Standing Rock, and her feature documentary Flat Daddy for PBS America. Scarafile has worked as a cinematographer in television and movies since 1993. His credits include The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Boardwalk Empire, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, among others. This is an in-person event. Your health and safety are our top priorities and we are following all CDC and New York City guidance. All guests must have received a COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccine (CDC card or photo, Excelsior Pass, CLEAR Health Pass, or other digital record) as well as a photo ID will be required. Masks are also required. RSVP does not guarantee entry. Doors open to the public 15 minutes before the event. Please arrive early to check in. Our coat check is limited. Please do not bring any large bags or backpacks.
