Join us for a weekend working on parent wounds and burnout, family of origin healing, and inviting the Spirit deeper into every corner of our lives.
Everyone grows up in an imperfect family. Sometimes we carry particular childhood wounds into adulthood which can greatly affect our lives, especially our work life and way we live out our faith. One of the common wounds is a lack of parental affirmation. Part of the work of discipleship, healing, and becoming whole in Christ is to bring these pains before God and ask for his Spirit to renovate and transform us.
Bishop Trevor will explore how seeking greater parental affirmation may be greatly shaping our work in adulthood. He’ll specifically make connections to topics like:
*Habitually seeking external affirmation
*Burnout in work especially for those in leadership roles
*Over functioning and over serving to the point of personal detriment
*People pleasing
*Seeking mentor/parental figures in an unhealthy way
*A lack of energy, motive, and drive to do good work
*Peace and contentment in Christ.
This seminar is especially for those in leadership positions– ministry leadership, marketplace leadership, and family leadership. There will also be applications for whatever stage of adulthood you’re in: young adulthood, middle adulthood, or mature adulthood.
Bishop Trevor Walters is a Canadian Bishop in the ACNA, a professional mediator, author, and leads pastors and leaders through this work of healing.
The in person sessions will be
Feb 11, 6-8pm
Feb 12, 10-12pm and 1:30-3:30pm
Your registration fee of $40 covers three weekend classes, Trevor’s book EAS Syndrome: Healing Burnout in Adults Lacking Parental Affirmation, and a follow up zoom class on March 5th.
