Join us at Blue-Green Connections' annual celebration of our Florida Gulf Coast Hope Spot!
An festival on February 12th will be held at the Edgewater Park in Dunedin. The festival will be a zero-waste event featuring many vendors as well as an Eat-Drink Local section for patrons to enjoy beer and food from local breweries and restaurants.
The home city of this Hope Spot, Dunedin, is especially near and dear to Mission Blue’s heart– this town is where Dr. Sylvia Earle, founder of Mission Blue, grew up and first fell in love with the ocean. Dr. Earle’s marine conservation nonprofit Mission Blue declared the Florida Gulf Coast a Hope Spot in recognition of the action from research programs, conservation projects and educational programs of the several dozen organizations hard at work along the coast to preserve the area’s ecosystems and life within them.

Blue-Green Connections, Inc. was formed in 2019 as a result of work done to nominate the waters of the Florida Gulf Coast as a Mission Blue(TM) Hope Spot. Our mission is to understand, promote, and support sustainable use of our precious land and water resources.
