SALEM, MA — North Shore residents looking to utilize one of the free Salem coronavirus test sites during the holiday season must now register in advance. The mobile Curative site at Riley Plaza began requiring pre-registration this week. The walk-up site involves a self-administered PCR test. Results are typically available within 24 to 48 hours. The test site is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays, but will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Those looking to book a slot for a shot can do so here. Salem is also home to two state "Stop the Spread" free testing sites. There is a drive-thru site at Salem High School and a walk-up site at St. Peter's Church. More information on holiday hours at those and other testing sites can be found here.
