Description

Sky is a beautiful and sweet girl. She is just under a year old, spayed and fully vetted, and on heartworm prevention. She is affectionate and playful, and she is a great napper. She will sleep quietly all night in her crate, and she rides perfectly in the car with her seatbelt on. She loves the Mills River dog park. Sky has severe separation anxiety, or what is now called isolation distress. She needs a home with stay-at-home owners who have experience with dogs and dog training. She can’t be left in her crate for more than a few hours, and even then she will panic and try to break out. She would do best with an active yet calm and stable home. Strangers coming and going in her space makes her anxious, but she could get used to it. She has completed a basic manners course, and she did well. She is not an off-leash dog, though. Her recall is nonexistent. I am rehoming her because I need to work, and I want her to have a safe and loving home with people who can always be with her. I also want her to have a more settled home. I don’t want her to be a “yard dog”. She loves sharing a recliner with her person. Another dog who is her size or larger would be great. She has no known experience with small children or cats, but she does have some herding instincts so this would have to be considered when small kids are involved. She’s probably an Australian Shepherd/terrier/hound mix. She is 19 lbs. Right now she has an active, loving, fun home. She is spoiled. Adopting her will be a process of meet-ups, and I will want to see where she’ll live. I’m going to be very picky because her happiness and safety is most important. I love her, but my life is taking an unexpected turn. do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers
