Press release from Menomonee Falls Public Library: 12/22/2021 January Adult Events Learn yoga, return to Fussville, or venture into This Land of Snow. All this, plus movies, book clubs, and genealogy! Read on to learn about what's happening at the Library. Join us for an all-levels basic yoga class! We will spend time focusing on the breath and becoming more centered and mindful. Next, we will move slowly through postures that will improve strength, flexibility, and stability within the body. Then we will strive to connect the breath to our movement. Finally, we will come to a resting pose to close the class. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your own yoga mat. Beginners are welcome! Limited to 15 participants. Wednesday, January 5, 20226:00 PMCommunity Room What is Fussville?  Is it a magical place like Brigadoon or Camelot?  No!  It used to be a separate community southeast of Menomonee Falls before it was annexed by the Village in 1958.  Carole McGibany, a local historian and author of Glimpses and A Second Glimpse, will speak about the founding, growth, and eventual demise of this once-thriving community. Thursday, January 137:00 PMChildren's Program Room Writer Anders Morley will discuss his book This Land of Snow: A Journey Across the North in Winter.  He tells the story of an entire winter he spent living outdoors and traveling on cross-country skis across northwestern Canada. The book is written in a literary voice and, more than just an outdoor adventure, is a meditation on winter and on the approach of mid-life.
