Good Wednesday morning Connecticut, Plain rain and freezing rain fell across Connecticut earlier this morning, but the precipitation will stop later this morning, and we will see clearing skies and temperatures reaching into the mid 40s. Winds could gust up to 30 mph at times this afternoon. It will be quiet until Thursday night where this a chance for some snow and then another chance for some rain, snow and sleet on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. The products were produced by Alexander & Hornung, a subsidiary of Perdue Premium Meat Co. based in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. The affected products were also produced on various dates, according to the announcement. Products subject to the recall bear establishment number "EST. M10125" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Store-made ground beef produced on Dec. 19 at ShopRite of Shelton The ShopRite of Shelton announced this week that it has initiated a voluntary recall of all store-made ground beef produced and sold on Dec. 19. The voluntary recall was issued because there is a possibility that the ground meat may contain small metal fragments, according to officials. The recalled products include all store-made packages of ground beef with a sell-by date of Dec. 19. No other products sold at the ShopRite of Shelton, which is located at 875 Bridgeport Ave., are affected by the recall, and no injuries related to the recall have been reported. Listeria concerns spur salad recall in Connecticut Salad products sold under the Fresh Express private labels have been recalled in 19 states, including Connecticut, because of possible contamination with listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious or fatal illnesses among vulnerable populations. Streamwood, Illinois-based Fresh Express said its products were distributed to retailers in Connecticut and 18 additional states. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported 10 illnesses associated with the salad products. COVID-19 update for CT The daily coronavirus positivity rate in Connecticut has climbed to 8.98 percent — the highest it's been since Jan. 11.
