Hey, neighbors! Danielle Fallon here with a fresh copy of theBurlington Daily. First, today's weather: Colder with clouds and sun. High: 22 Low: 16. Here are the top stories today in Burlington: The Burlington International Airport is looking to build a few new facilities on 10 acres of land in South Burlington. Last week, the airport had a meeting with the Airport Rezoning Task Force, sponsored by the South Burlington Planning Commission. BTV wants the intersection of Airport Parkway and Kirby Road, closest to the airfield for maintenance and administration buildings. (Local 22/44 News)The Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington is seeking permission to demolish a closed cathedral and a grove of trees downtown. If the city grants permission to demolish the Immaculate Conception Church on Pine Street, an existing parking area would remain and the site would be left as an open lawn. Burlington Zoning Division Manager Scott Gustin said the church applied last week for a permit to demolish the church; it will be several months before a decision is made on whether to grant the permit. (Rutland Herald)In advance of the holidays, Governor Phil Scott announced a series of COVID-19 testing clinics providing access to rapid tests across Vermont. 10,000 rapid LAMP tests and 60,000 at-home rapid antigen tests will be distributed through a combination of testing sites and community organizations starting today. This represents a significant expansion over pre-Thanksgiving testing, over which the State of Vermont offered 1,200 rapid tests.
