COVID-19 Test Kits Run Out In Harford County In Minutes

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Within 30 minutes of issuing free rapid COVID-19 tests Wednesday morning, the Harford County Health Department reported it had run out of its supply. Test kits were limited to one per person at its Edgewood branch at 321 Woodbridge Station Way. The state health secretary encouraged people to get tested for the virus before holiday gatherings, particularly if they have been exposed to someone who tested positive or if they are feeling sick. "Marylanders getting a COVID-19 test before they visit their family and friends will give them the peace of mind that they can safely enjoy their gatherings," State Health Secretary Dennis Schrader said in a statement Wednesday. While test kit distribution was slated to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until supplies lasted in Edgewood, Harford County health officials announced before 9:30 a.m. the kits were gone.
