Press release from the City of Jackson: 2021-12-21 For Immediate Release Dec. 21, 2021 JACKSON, Miss– Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba has tested positive for COVID-19 on a home test. He is now awaiting results from a separate PCR test to confirm the result. The Mayor took the home test Tuesday morning as a matter of routine. He initially wanted to notify his immediate family of the test results before sending a news release to the media. The Mayor, who is fully vaccinated and has received a booster shot, is currently quarantining at home.
