TEMPE, AZ — The city of Tempe ran out of free rapid at home COVID-19 tests Tuesday, the same day it began distributing them, according to a news release from the city.
The city had expected to have 1,500 tests on-hand to distribute.
All of its distribution sites were out of stock as of Tuesday afternoon, and the city said they would not be restocked until early next week.
People across the country are rushing to get tested for COVID-19 ahead of Christmas gatherings in the face of the rapidly-spreading omicron variant of the coronavirus.
Test kits were available for free during business hours at the following locations, and are anticipated to be available at these locations again early next week:
