Press release from the City of Phoenix: December 22, 2021 1:05 PM City of Phoenix offices will be closed, Friday, Dec. 24, in observance of the Christmas holiday. City offices will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 31, 2020, in observance of New Year's Day.  Here's how city services are affected: Solid Waste: With the Christmas holiday and New Year's Day falling on non-service days, trash and recycling collection will not be impacted. ​Transfer Stations: The 27th Avenue and North Gateway Transfer Stations will be closed Friday, Dec. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday, and will be closed Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year's Day. Public Transit: On Friday, Dec. 24, bus and rail will operate on a Sunday schedule and there is no RAPID or Express service. On Saturday, Dec. 25, service will operate on a Saturday schedule. Customer Service will be open Dec. 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (MetroCenter, Sunnyslope, Ed Pastor, and Central Station transit stations will be closed), and all customer service will be closed Dec. 25. On Friday, Dec. 31, New Year's Eve, service will operate on a Sunday schedule and there is no RAPID or Express service. Valley Metro Rail service will be extended to 2 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to the end of service, Valley Metro service is free of charge. On Saturday, Jan. 1, service will operate on a Saturday schedule.
