Here are the top 5 stories in Atlanta today: Police have arrested a man suspected of shooting another man outside of a church near the Georgia State Capitol building Wednesday morning. Jamarius Rogers is accused of shooting another man just before 10:30 a.m. during the daily "Morning Sandwich and Snack" ministry at the Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, located just one block from the heavily secured Georgia State Capitol. Police found a man at the scene suffering from a single gunshot wound, who was taken to the hospital and is considered stable. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution) Additional details about the Monday night shooting inside a movie theater at Phipps Plaza, an upscale shopping mall in the city's Buckhead community, have been provided by Atlanta police. In addition to releasing 911 calls and video of the suspected shooter, police said a man and woman arrived after the movie began and found someone sitting in their assigned seat. There was an argument, the man fired one shot, striking the man sitting in the seat and causing other movie-goers to panic and run from the theater. Police are looking for a man wearing a black jacket over a white hoodie, as well as the woman who accompanied him. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS. (CBS46 News Atlanta) More than nine months after Texas rapper Corey Detiege was shot and killed on Interstate 85, a suspect is in custody. James Thomas was arrested by police and U.S. Marshals at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport as he was exiting an airplane. According to police, someone pulled up next to Detiege's car around 3 a.m. on March 5 and opened fire on I-85 near Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Detiege, 33, died at the hospital. (WSB Atlanta)If what's cooking for Christmas is something a restaurant is preparing, you're in luck: More restaurants than ever are open for dine-in and takeout on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. From take-home pizzas to sit-down fine dining, chances are there's an Atlanta-area restaurant open and serving it this Christmas. Given recent coronavirus disruptions, however, it's suggested that you check with restaurants ahead of time and take precautions. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)AAA will again be offering its seasonal "Tow to Go" service to help make sure impaired drivers make it home safely during the holidays. "It's just one of the ways we're trying to make the roads a little safer this holiday season," said AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins. Beginning at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, through 6 a.m., Jan. 3, AAA will send trucks to tow would-be impaired drivers and their vehicles to safe locations within 10 miles. Tow to Go is available in Georgia by calling 855-2-TOW-2-GO (855-286-9246), although drivers can't schedule appointments in advance. The service - which AAA officials stress is only a backup plan – is free for AAA members and non-members.
