Found 12/21 small white paper bag containing several pieces of jewelry & some coins tossed by the side of the road, looks like maybe stolen and then tossed.
Where: The embankment on the right above Foothill Road about 12 feet up, maybe 30 feet before Foothill meets N Ontare if driving from downtown Santa Barbara. It looks like it could have been tossed from either Foothill Road or more likely from Canyon Acres Drive (parallel to Foothill and above) to land where it did, so high on the embankment.
It was there for at least a week or two before I picked it up. I pick up trash as I walk but it was higher than I usually venture. Yesterday I decided to pick it up and found it to be mostly jewelry with some special coins and several safety pins. The container fell apart but I remember seeing it look like white paper so maybe it was a white paper bag.
If you are missing jewelry and can describe it to me, I’ll know it is yours. If I don’t find an owner, I’ll take it to the police department.
