Funk/Jazz Band needs Guitar, Drums, Percussion, Vocalists

Like the title says, we need some added players to pull together a funk-jazz-fusion band doing original compositions and arrangements of covers. Possible room for vocal talent. We are also looking for jazz/jazz-fusion vocalists especially those who double on instrument(s). The band will be either a septet or octet plus vocalist. The material we’ll perform includes a mix of jazz, fusion, and latin (afro carribbean, samba-bossa-axe). Rehearsals will be well organized. We’ll work from fully developed charts and some written sketches Ihead arrangements). We will emphasize select solos and developed soli to show of the talents of every band member. Most positions require either strong sight reading skills or the willingness to take the chart home and woodshed it so that the score is familiar to rehearse. On occasion we’ll take a basic song concept and explore it for later refinement in a written arrangement So, this is NOT a so-called rehearsal band. We will perform at Bay Area venues and festivals, do live webcasts from our studio, and record complications. We already have some very solid horn players and one possible multi-percussionist. However, We’re still open to contact from other horn players as well. So far, the players we’ve lined up have come from referrals from the founders (keys/vocals and bass/vocals) and the horn players we know.
