Position: Community Wildfire Protection Corps Crew Member – Winter Season Dates: 2/16/2022 to 4/22/22 Location: Based in Eugene, OR. This is a Full time, winter session based opportunity. Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00 PM. Local area housing will be required for duration of session. Spend 9.5 weeks protecting your community from wildfires by doing fuels reduction, enhancing natural habitats, and removing invasive species. Play a vital role in improving your community and the environment. Build a Better You: Gain certifications, work experience and references needed to open career pathways and get you moving towards your dream job. Crew members can use this opportunity as a stepping stone towards starting a career in natural resource management, outdoor recreation, forestry, or working for other environmental nonprofits. Others, who may not be interested in working in the green jobs sector, use this work experience as a chance to gain easily transferable job skills, travel to new places, meet new people, and spend weeks bettering their community. Benefits: This Northwest Youth Corps position is operated in partnership with AmeriCorps, our country’s national service program. AmeriCorps members complete paid terms of national community service to address our nation’s most pressing issues. As an AmeriCorps member you will receive a living allowance of $4,500 prorated throughout your term of service, along with earning a $1,342 AmeriCorps Education Award.
