Description

These two male Pacific Parrotlets (Forpus coelestis) are looking for a different home. I have only had them a few months, and while they like to hang out with me, they are not bonded or attached to me personally. They really like each other and will preen each other when they're out, but since they're parrotlets (territorial little velociraptors) they can not be housed in the same cage. The blue pied one is about 2-2.5 years old, and is a little shy, but very sweet. Will step up from the floor or other place where he has landed. The yellow pied one is about 8 years old. He is a fierce little maniac, who is always mouthy and opinionated. He will step onto a hand or arm, but I usually do that with a sleeve over bare skin because he bites. He has a plucking habit, which has been getting better in the time I have had him, but he has not allowed his feathers to grow in all the way. I recently bought them an M&M Cage Company full spectrum light, which I think is helping him with his feather health. They've been eating a combination of Harrisons High Potency small pellets, a seed blend that includes Volkman's hookbill, Topp's Napoleon seed blend, hemp seeds, and Golden Feast Patagonian Blend, and fresh chop made from various fresh vegetables. I want them to stay together, but I might consider rehoming them separately. The ideal situation would be for them to stay side-by-side in the cages they are already in since they're used to them, and I want them to have at least 4 hours a day out of their cages. This is what is included with them: 2 Prevue 18x18x57 wrought iron cages with playstand tops 1 electronic shower/bath (cat drinking fountain) 1 small wooden play stand Lots of toys Any food I have left There is a rehoming fee. I am not very motivated to rehome them, so let me know what kind of home they would be going to and why they should live with you. Experienced bird people only. Parrotlets are more challenging than budgerigars or cockatiels.
