10 year old Amazon parrot, Billy, needs to be rehomed as elderly owner can no longer care for him. This parrot needs to be with someone who has the ability to help tame him and spend time working with him. He currently lives in a large cage on his own but has other birds in the same room. He is difficult to handle but does like being around other birds. He loves pellets, some seed, and human food. He especially loves chicken and beef, eggs and bacon, noodles, and vegetables, but will eat pretty much anything his human is eating, just in very small portions.
He has learned a few words, and will say, 'Hello!" whenever he wants to be fed human foods. He comes with a large cage and some toys. Billy seems to prefer males over females, which is why his female owner is having a hard time with him since her husband passed away. I have been able to handle him if I gently wrap him in a towel and let him calm down first (I am a female) but cannot take him in due to many rescues as is.
Please let me know if you are able to give Billy a lot of experienced attention and love. His owner paid over $1500 for him, plus the cage was around $250. Rehoming fee of $500 to ensure a good and conscientious new home. Please reply to this post for any other information or to arrange to meet Billy.
