American Foundation & Waterproofing is East Tennessee's leader in the waterproofing, foundation, and concrete repair industry. We are currently seeking an on-site Shop & Fleet Manager at our Headquarters in Maryville, TN. Pay rate based on experience. Apply online now at Primary duties are to maintain the company fleet of gas and diesel-powered vehicles, and heavy equipment, efficiently and economically. Duties also include maintaining accurate fleet maintenance logs and other paperwork as required, along with keeping the shops, materials, and company property clean and organized. Experienced auto technician in all areas. Able to perform proper safety and maintenance inspections and perform repairs. Preferred candidates will have knowledge and experience working on commercial diesel- and gas-powered vehicles, hydraulics, and heavy equipment. Responsibilities: • Examine vehicles and equipment to determine extent of damage or malfunctions • Review work orders and follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined • Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience • Communicate with drivers to obtain descriptions of vehicle/equipment problems. • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups • Comply with all safety, DOT and OSHA guidelines • Adhere to company rules and regulations • Ensure cleanliness of shop and surrounding areas. • Undertake other duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills: • High School diploma or equivalent • Valid driver’s license, and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) • Proven experience as Professional Mechanic. • ASE (Brakes) Certification a Must, other ASE Certifications are a plus. • Knowledge of heavy equipment (Track Loaders, Excavators et.al.) machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other systems, and their components • Ability to use diagnostic equipment and MS office products • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 7am to 5pm • Good communication skills with team members and management. • Critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues. • A self-starter, someone who is comfortable working autonomously and as a team. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: This job operates in an automotive shop environment. The job will have exposure to moderate to loud noise levels, adverse ambient temperatures, chemicals, odors, dirt and dust.
