We are looking to hire a maintenance person for a mobile home community. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong working knowledge of HVAC, electric, and plumbing work, and the ability to do light rehabs on homes when one become available. Good communication skills are required to meet and talk with contractors, inspectors, etc. Must be able to discuss the work needed, judge whether an estimate is reasonable, and communicate accurately back to management. Pay for this position is $25 per hour. On average, the position will require 30 hours of work per week but may at times require up to 40 hours of work per week or more. You will also need to be on call evenings and weekends for emergencies.
Applicant must have the following skills and abilities:
Licensing not required, but must have a strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing work, etc.
You will need your own liability insurance. This is an independent contractor position.
Strong communication and tech skills through texting, phone, in person and email
Meet with vendors, inspectors, etc to discuss work, and communicate accurately to park management.
Be able to effectively communicate supplies needed, both verbally and in writing.
Must have your own tools, an insured vehicle to pick up supplies, and valid driver’s license
Preform miscellaneous tasks like fixing a clogged sewer line, broken water line, patch roads, city violations, etc.
Perform rehabs on vacant homes that become available for resell.
Perform light plumbing and electrical work
Repair and hanging drywall
Fix and replace doors
Change and re-key locks
Repair sub-floors and lay vinyl floors
Skirt homes
Build steps for homes
Maintain park equipment: Lawn mower and tractor
Walk the park daily for litter, limb clean up, and to identify problems and rule violations.
