JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Wire Dept. Team Lead – 2nd Shift Department: Warehouse Reports To: Wire Department Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt: Hourly Position Summary: The Wire Dept. Team Lead is responsible for processing wire orders accurately and in a timely manner. The Wire Dept. Team Lead reviews wire orders and directs the team as necessary to fulfill the orders. The Wire Dept. Team Lead participates in the production of cutting wire. This position is responsible for the efficient operation of the wire dept. ( in collaboration with the Wire Dept. Supervisor) during 2nd shift which includes maintaining proper tools, team & processes, scheduling work, and maintaining proper locations & wire accuracy. The Wire Dept. Team Lead will need to collaborate with shipping, receiving, routing, sales, and purchasing teams in order to be successful. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operations (in collaboration with Wire Department Supervisor): • Implement and maintain proper safety measures within the wire aisle • Create and maintain proper organization techniques to manage tools, people, processes, and workload • Maintain efficient operating procedures within wire aisle • Implement and manage operational efficiencies, quality improvements, and productivity improvements within the wire aisle • Assist in determining staffing needs and hiring wire team members • Train and develop wire team • Assist Wire Dept. Supervisor & Director of Warehouse & Transportation with performance management of team • Collaborate and plan with Wire Department Supervisor. Have shift turn-over meeting. • Schedule the production of orders and set team shifts in the wire aisle (in collaboration with sales) in order to maintain a consistent through-put • Cut Wire orders per Work Order/Ticket Instructions. • Ensure proper Quality Checks are followed. • Manage and execute special customer requirements within the wire aisle • Assist with loading recommendations with large wire orders • Maintain accurate locations for wire • Maintain accurate quantities and lots for wire • Maintain accurate quantities and locations for pulling heads • Manage the scrap process for all wire • Maintain wire cutting equipment and recommend the need for new or additional equipment • Maintain cleanliness of the wire aisle • Assist other warehouse teams as time and workload allows (Shipping, Receiving, & DTS) • Shift Hours: 1 – 9:30pm (OT when necessary) (Mon – Friday), & Occasional Saturdays) o Initial Training Hours will be earlier (10am – 6:30pm) Preferred Experience/Qualifications: • Prior machine operator experience • Prior experience using Microsoft Excel and Outlook • Prior Supervisor or Lead experience • Ability to use Fork-Lift (Stand up and Sit Down) • Spanish/Bilingual • Prior Inventory & Warehouse Experience • Experience Moving Straight Trucks (Not Required) The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
