Join us around a campfire as we read stories about the wintertime wanderings and habits of wildlife to participants. All ages. $5.
Orenda Wildlife Land Trust and Cape Wildlife Center are co-hosting A Winter Wildlife Story Hour , part of its Story Hour event series, on January 22nd from 2 - 4 PM at the Cape Wildlife Center and Orenda offices located at 4011 Main St., Barnstable, MA.
Participants will gather around a campfire as stories about the wintertime wanderings and habits of wildlife are read aloud by your hosts with time for discussion. Hibernation, tracking, nesting and feeding are some for the topics covered. The books are written for both young and older children, making it fun and educational for all ages. Cape Wildlife Center will do a brief show and tell so you can meet two of their resident owls….a rare treat! A special guided craft related to wildlife care will be distributed. Hot chocolate and s’mores will be provided. If we are lucky it will snow and we’ll have the opportunity to see some wildlife tracks.
The event fee is $5 per person, with all proceeds directly supporting Orenda’s ongoing Story Hour series. We look forward to seeing you there!
