Description
The Laminate Supervisor is responsible for using shop standards to finish and modify, utilizing proper equipment techniques to complete required projects under the direction of the Production Manager. All ASTOUND processes and procedures must be followed including updating the Project Lead of Quality Assurance checkpoints and proper documentation is being used within a project. This includes material tracking, work order processes and identifying any discrepancies within shop drawings. Candidate will also be responsible for meeting quality standards, and completing tasks in a timely manner. This position requires strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a neat, clean, and safe manner to meet scheduled hours. If available for night shift, work with the night supervisor performing all tasks, standards, and project requirements. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: - May oversee other laminator workers to ensure process is being followed - Train employees on work procedures and processes of laminating - Report all production discrepancies and schedule concerns to the Production Manager - Monitor laminators to ensure time allowances for production requirements are being met - Assists Production Manager in reviewing employees' work performances - Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and safety and environmental control standards - Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promoting workplace safety - Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned - Performing layup of composite materials according to the manufacturing plan, drawings, and Standard Work Instructions; checking for any discrepancies - Works at different work stations where tasks vary as production needs Specific Job Skills and Desired Experience: - Ability to read and understand detailed instructions and follow demonstrated steps (can read blueprints and CAD Drawings) - Excellent eye/hand coordination - Self-motivated, quick learner - Strong attention to detail - Basic understanding of process specifications - Ability to comprehend and communicate information presented orally and written to and from a supervisor or co-worker - Working knowledge of shop power tools, operation, safety and uses - Working knowledge of laminating methods and exhibit construction - Working knowledge of laminates, veneers and contact glue - Communicates with other team members in the shop and warehouse effectively - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, and/or three+ years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in working with composite materials a plus. - Cost and quality conscious - Forklift experience a plus
