FITE NITE - 60th Annual THE HARDEST HITTING BOXING EVENT IN TEXAS IS BACK FOR ITS 60th GO AROUND!!! GET READY!!!   SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY: TBD   Delivering year after year since 1957, Fite Nite remains one of the longest standing traditions at Texas State University. Famous for showcasing some of the most “adrenalized” boxing in Texas, Fite Nite has grown into one of the largest collegiate boxing events in the nation. Every year we consistently draw thousands of fans, including sports celebrities and regional governmental officials. Fite Nite is an officially sanctioned event by USA Boxing – South Texas Amateur Boxing Association.   The Fite Nite team will be coordinating this year’s explosive experience on Friday, April 22nd, 2022 in the STRAHAN ARENA at the UNIVERSITY EVENTS CENTER in SAN MARCOS, TX. This year’s weigh-in will take place at the Marc on the Square on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022.   Fite Nite was originally held in the old Evans Auditorium on Texas State’s West Campus. The event began as elimination-style where contestants fought one another until only one winner was left standing. Due to popularity and increased attendance, the event eventually moved to the Hays County Civic Center. Over the years, the format has evolved into what is today, a fully sanctioned amateur boxing event. After an unfortunate - and now infamous - altercation amongst the crowd of over-zealous spectators, the event was forced to move away from San Marcos in 1987. Having been held in various locations ranging from Buda to Schertz over the last 30+ years, Fite Nite was proud to move to Downtown San Marcos in 2015. The past four years, Fite Nite has been held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in San Marcos, TX.   This year, we are proud to announce that we are moving the event to the STRAHAN ARENA at the UNIVERSITY EVENTS CENTER. We are extremely excited to be holding Fite Nite at this incredible venue and we are looking forward to an explosive and exciting year!   In addition to all the great action planned, Fite Nite has had the pleasure of donating to several local charities in and around the San Marcos area such as the Hays County Food Bank.   Thank you for your interest in the 60th Annual Fite Nite.
