Seeking musicians for an industrial / 80s dance metal band
Meets
Sunnyvale CA
Description
Veteran guitar player and sound/lights guy kicking off an industrial/80s dance metal band - in need of a second guitar, bass, drums, synth, and vocals. Based near Sunnyvale, intended to range roughly Gilroy <> SF <> Oakland and beyond if it takes off. Target gigging a couple of times a month if the crowds hold, starting with one set to get it moving and building from there. Explicit focus of the band is heavy music but targeted towards getting the crowd engaged and on the dancefloor. Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Ghost, and things like the Orgy cover of Blue Monday, Avantasia cover of Maniac, and Edguy cover of Amadeus. This will be a performance-oriented band. Full lightshow synced to Ableton with a clicktrack, costumes, choreography. I have all the toys (lights, IEMs, splitters, etc. etc.) needed to make it happen. Please be excited to embrace all of that - this isn't meant to be a stand-around-in-jeans band. Strong preference for digital players (Axe FX, VDrums, etc.) to enable maximum consistency both for IEM mixes and for the crowd venue to venue. Also strong preference for keytar for the synth player - I'd love you to be part of the stage show rather than behind a stand. Van Halen virtuosos not needed, but please know your stuff, be easy to work with, and be ready to put the work in - this probably isn't a good first rodeo. Creative ideas welcome, though the band's focus is specific. All genders and ages (21+ so you can get in the bars) welcome as long as you're ready to move on stage - you'll be respected and welcomed. Please be vaxxed / boosted, not a conspiracy theorist, and don't bring any drug or alcohol issues to the band (I'm fully drug free). If this sounds serious, it's meant to. Looking to make this a semi-pro level act (but still have a lot of fun, because it's dance metal and success looks like a full dancefloor while blasting great music). If this sounds interesting, let's talk. About me: mid-30s, have played guitar in various groups around the Bay Area including a successful 80s hair metal cover band, have mixed other bands and venues, and own a PA and a full lighting rig that I've put in the time to program. I'm about putting on a great show above all. Sane, gainfully employed, do my homework, transport for myself and plenty of gear. Dedicated, but doing this for the love of it. I hope you're out there, and look forward to connecting!
