Get Outside is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting physical and mental health through outdoor recreation.  The vision of Get Outside is for families and friends to engage in outdoor recreational activities together throughout their lives, from childhood to adulthood.  There is a growing tendency toward a sedentary lifestyle that is centered around technology, which has been shown to drastically affect both mental and physical health.  This trend will continue to worsen with time, and its effects are predicted to in turn exponentially worsen.  As a community, we must make a concerted effort to reverse this trend.  Get Outside is absolutely dedicated to this cause.  The objectives we embrace are to: 1.  Provide the community with opportunities to engage in a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities that they otherwise may not have the chance to engage in. 2.  Provide education and training in a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities so that families and friends can recreate on their own, independent of Get Outside, throughout their lifetime. 3.  Provide financial assistance to the community in overcoming cost barriers associated with many outdoor recreational activities.   We firmly believe that as we, the community, incorporate outdoor recreational experiences into our lives, we will see a marked improvement in our physical and mental health manifest by decreases in chronic diseases associated with sedentary lifestyles(hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, etc.), decreases in rates of anxiety and depression, substance abuse, and increases in quality of life, as a whole.   We hope that you will come join us in our efforts to provide outdoor engagement opportunities for all who desire.  Follow us and contact us via: www.getoutsideutah.org FB:  getoutsidego IG:  get_outside_go
