Join GCPL and a panel of experts to learn practical ways to survive and thrive as a member of the Sandwich Generation. Complimentary refreshments will be served. The Sandwich Generation is positioned in the middle with the complexities of caring for aging parents while supporting their own children. In this workshop series, a panel of experts will provide insight to survive and thrive for those who currently are, or anticipate becoming, a member of the Sandwich Generation. Tuesday, January 11, 6:30 p.m. Suwanee Library BranchPreparing for Your Aging Parents Keith Naab from Affordable Medicare Solutions will discuss the ins and outs of Medicare and how to find the best plan to fit your parents’ needs. Tuesday, March 8, 6:30 p.m. Five Forks Library BranchSenior Living Options Victoria Archable from CarePatrol will discuss signs to watch out for in determining when an older adult may need safer housing and how to choose the best option. Tuesday, May 10, 6:30 p.m. Duluth Library BranchManaging Stress for the Caregiver An expert from Atlanta Regional Commission will provide tools to recognize the warning signs of stress and how to cope with the difficult feelings of caring for a loved one. Free and open to all. Registration is recommended.
