I cover the one I still have with a small blanket and leave the door open, my pup loves having her own room with her bed inside to go and lay down in when she wants to be alone. And, because it is wire and not solid plastic it gets more air circulation so cooler in warm weather and easier for pet to breathe, plus keeps odors from building up.
