Press release from the Metropolitan Police Department: December 19, 2021 (Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District seek the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, December 17, 2021, in the 2500 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast. At approximately 3:54 pm, the suspect and victim were inside a residence at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun in the direction of the victim and a physical altercation ensued. The suspect assaulted the victim and the suspect made good their escape. The victim sustained minor injuries.
