STRATFORD, CT — A juvenile has been arrested in connection with a threatening message that was posted on social media on Monday, according to police. The message was posted on Twitter and directed toward students and faculty of the Stratford school system, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti. "Investigators were able to quickly identify the suspect and based on the investigation, one juvenile was arrested for posting the threat," Eannotti wrote in a news release. "Additional officers were posted at the schools as a precautionary measure during the school day. The Stratford Police Department and Board of Education treat all perceived threats valid or not seriously and have worked diligently to ensure the safety of all students and faculty to provide a safe learning and work environment." Police announced in a post on social media late Monday night that the department was notified of a threat that was posted on Twitter, and it was deemed to be not credible. News12 Connecticut reported that the threatening post came from an anonymous Twitter account that said there would be an attack against a middle school in Stratford on Tuesday and warned not to send kids to school.
