ROUND ROCK, TX ā KingsIsle Entertainment, best known for developing the online games "Wizards 101" and "Pirates 101", will expand and move its corporate headquarters to Round Rock. The company will use 33,000-square feet of office space at 2700 La Frontera in Round Rock for its headquarters. KingsIsle plans to invest $500,000 in real property improvements and will create 150 primary jobs, which would include the retention of the company's local 80 employees, according to a new release sent by the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce on Monday. The Plano gaming company was acquired in January 2021 by Media and Games Invest, and as part of the acquisition process, KingsIsle conducted a national search to identify a location to consolidate its U.S. headquarters and engineering studio. Of the 150 jobs planned at the new headquarters, the positions will include a diverse workforce of software engineers, developers, and headquarters and administrative functions with an average salary of $85,000 per year and offering full benefits. "KingsIsle is a needed addition to Round Rock's business community," Mayor Craig Morgan said. "Not only is it a technology and computing business, which is a key industry target for our economic development partnership with the Round Rock Chamber, it will also be a corporate headquarters. "The results of their nationwide search for a new headquarters is evidence that Round Rock is a destination for economic growth and opportunity," Robinson said. KingsIsle is a creative video game and digital technology company originally headquartered in Plano, that also previously operated its software development studio in Round Rock occupying 19,000 square feet with 80 local employees.
