Free COVID-19 Testing Available Near Plainfield Tuesday

PLAINFIELD, IL — With the omicron COVID-19 variant quickly spreading and Christmas just days away, Shield Illinois, a COVID-19 test provider, is offering free tests throughout northern Illinois Tuesday. Although no testing sites are located in Plainfield, the nearest ones are at Joliet Junior College Main Campus and Lockport Township High School East Campus. Testing is free, and visitors will have results in 24 to 48 hours, according to a flyer sent out by Plainfield School District 202 about the holiday screenings. No appointments are needed, either.
