PITTSBURGH, PA — COVID-19 issues have forced the postponement of Tuesday's game between the Penguins and New Jersey Devils, the National Hockey League announced Monday. A make-up date for the game has yet to be established. New Jersey's game on Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens has been previously postponed. The cancellation is disappointing news for the red-hot Penguins, who defeated the Devils on Sunday to extend their winning streak to seven games. COVID-19 issues, however, continue to plague the league. "We will continue to play the 2021-22 regular season schedule," the NHL and the NHL Players Association said Sunday in a joint statement. "Although there has been recent increase in positive COVID test results among players, coaches and hockey staff, there have been a low number of positive cases that have resulted in concerning symptoms or serious illness." The Pens are still slated to play the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday. Be the first to know what's happening in your community and region.
