By Olivia Wynkoop, Bay City News Foundation SAN JOSE, CA — The San Jose Police Department responded to reports of a person shot at Oakridge Mall at 6 p.m. on Monday, and a shelter-in-place and search for the suspect and victim are still taking place as of 7:39 p.m. Police say there is no active shooter at the mall, though it will take a few hours to clear the scene. Police say the incident is still substantiated and the victim's condition is still unknown. People in the mall are allowed to leave the mall after police officers contact them, police said. Officers advise those sheltering in place to stay where they are and they will find them. Sam Liccardo, San Jose Mayor, said on Twitter that families and loved ones to not approach the scene or leave their car. A reunification center will be set up in the Home Depot parking lot on Blossom Hill Road. "If you're still in the mall or awaiting loved ones, SJPD officers will find those inside and send them out as they safely clear the mall. This will take time--please be patient," Liccardo wrote in a tweet. Copyright © 2021 Bay City News, Inc. All rights reserved.
