GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS DOMESTIC BATTERY Witold Lach, 46, of Glenview, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 11:32 p.m. Dec. 17, in Glenview. He was held for a bond hearing on Dec. 19. Matthew Struck, of Glenview, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Dec. 14, in Glenview. He was taken to the Skokie Courthouse for a bond hearing. THEFT Zaria Brown, 19, of the 3400 block of W. Flournoy Street, Chicago, is accused of theft, and was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Dec. 14, following an investigation of an incident in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue on Nov. 5. She was released on an I-bond and assigned a court date of Jan. 19, 2022. RETAIL THEFT Jimmy Pobol, 63, of the 6900 block of Jonquil Terrace, Niles, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 1:07 p.m. Dec. 14, following an investigation into an incident in the 2200 block of Willow Road on Nov. 26. He was released on an I-bond with a court date set for Jan. 7, 2022. IDENTITY THEFT Cedric Ross, 36, of the 7700 block of Euclid Avenue, Chicago, is accused of felony theft, unlawful possession of a fraudulent identification card, and was arrested at 12:10 p.m. Dec. 16, following the investigation of an incident at 1200 Milwaukee Avenue. He was held for a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse. LAST WEEK: Customer Gets Trespass Warning For Goodwill Retail Theft INCIDENTS THEFT OF LOST PROPERTY A Palatine resident reported at 9:20 p.m. Dec. 13, leaving his mobile phone in the bathroom of a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road. CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT An Evanston resident called police at 1:26 p.m. Dec. 14, to report their relative's headstone was defaced with a permanent marker at Sunset Memorial Lawns, 3100 Shermer Road. SPEEDING A Glenview resident was cited at 3:31 p.m. Dec. 14, for speeding (26+ mph over the speed limit) following a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Central Road. They were released on an I-bond with a court date set for Jan. 24, 2022. A Des Plaines resident was cited for speeding (26+ mph over the speed limit) on Dec. 14 following a traffic stop in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. They were released on an I-bond with a court date set for Jan. 19, 2022.THEFT An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 4:48 p.m. Dec. 14, a woman purchased two gift cards. During the transaction, the woman scammed the cashier by conducting a short-change scam on the cashier. Total reported loss is $400.A Waukegan Road resident called police at 9:01 p.m. Dec. 20, to report searching on the internet for a telephone number for Apple Support. They called the number and spoke to a person who called himself Ryan Clarke. Ryan Clarke told the resident money was stolen from their bank account and they would need to purchase gift cards to fix the problem. The resident purchased one gift card and provided the card information to the man before realizing it was a scam. Total reported loss is $500.RETAIL THEFT An employee in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 11:54 a.m. Dec. 15, to report a resident of Rolling Meadows left the store without paying for a set of headphones. The customer retuned the item, and was given a trespassing notice to never return to the store.An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 9:31 p.m. Dec. 17, a Northbrook resident took food and water from the store without paying for the items. The items were returned, and the person was given a trespass notice to the business. CRIMINAL DAMAGE A Glencoe resident reported at 1:36 p.m. Dec. 17, someone scratched a loaner vehicle while parked in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard. Damage estimated at $5,000. SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE A Chicago resident was cited at 6:10 p.m. Dec. 17, for driving on a suspended license, improper lane usage, after a traffic stop at 3200 Central Road. They were released on a $2,500 I-Bond with a court date set for Jan. 24, 2022. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY Residents in the 1100 block of Raleigh Road reported at 11:34 a.m. Dec. 18, receiving a call believed to be from their son stating he needed bail money. The residents withdrew money and a man came to their residence and collected the money before realizing it was a scam. Total reported loss is $10,000. BATTERY Two employees of a business in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 6:54 a.m. Dec. 19, having a verbal argument with each other and one of the employees slapped the hand of the other employee. DISORDERLY CONDUCT A resident in the 100 block of Lincoln Street called police at 12:54 p.m. Dec. 19, to report seeing an unleashed dog in Manor Park, 200 Lincoln St. The resident asked the dog owner to leash his dog and the dog owner made threatening comments. The dog owner left prior to police arrival.
