DOUGLASVILLE, GA — With the omicron variant becoming the new dominant variant of the coronavirus, more people are getting tested.
Omicron variant cases in Georgia, along with other Southeast states, outpace the delta variant, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Georgia public health officials reported 29,929 COVID-19 cases in the past two weeks — nearly twice the amount in the same two weeks ending Nov. 18.
