Westerly School Maintenance Technician Our School Westerly School is an independent, non-sectarian Kindergarten through 8th grade school focused on whole child education. Through inquiry-based pedagogy and practices, Westerly School strives to recognize and meet the needs of every individual student to ignite within each child a lifelong love of learning as they discover their full and unique potential. Westerly remains the only independent school in Long Beach. Westerly currently enrolls 180 students. Position Description We are looking for a responsible person to join our Maintenance team. This position will perform nightly cleaning of our classrooms and other campus areas. This person will demonstrate responsibility, adaptability, attention to detail, timeliness and care for the school. They will be considered a member of the Westerly Team and will follow personnel handbook guidelines. If hired, this person must complete the standard school hiring process including a background check using LiveScan. Essential Functions: Use cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior & exterior of the school clean, safe and professional. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Clean restrooms and classrooms nightly - including cleaning toilets and sinks, dust, sanitize surfaces, vacuum, mop floors, and empty trash as assigned * Deep clean classrooms based on assigned schedule including dust high surfaces, clean all glass doors, and other surfaces * Seasonal cleaning: clean furniture, strip and wax floor, carpet cleaning * Maintain daily cleaning log * Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 4pm - 8pm Westerly School is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
