Our mission is to promote the visual arts of the diverse communities of our region, with educational and exhibition opportunities for artists at all levels of accomplishment. Classes and workshops are offered both online and in-person to artists of all kinds! OSA’s Gallery hosts a new show every month with the intention of helping artists get their work before the public. The true spirit on which OSA was founded is as alive today as it was in 1926. The oldest art museum in the region, the Portland Art Museum was founded in 1892 and continues its mission to enrich the region through the presentation of art and film of enduring quality. More than 175 enthusiastic docents work hard to make the Portland Art Museum a welcoming place for all ages. They are active participants in creating dynamic conversations that engage learners of any age, and they help bring art alive with their creative suggestions while guiding visitors through galleries full of inspiring artwork. The dedicated group called “Docents” at PAM has been exceptionally vital throughout its history. This show will feature the artwork of both of these groups of artists.
