Metalwerks Elkton, MD 21921 Job details Job type Full-time Schedule 8 hour shift Some Overtime First shift Monday to Friday Year round work Benefits Health insurance Flexible schedule Paid time off Dental insurance 401(k) 401(k) matching Job description We at Metalwerks are looking for a Driver to transport our material crates in a comfortable, safe and timely manner on a Hino with a 26 foot truck bed, or a F350 with a 24 foot trailer ( we will train you, but some experience would be helpful.). You will need to be able to pass a medical Card DOT physical before you start work. If you already have a DOT card that would be a bonus. Driver responsibilities include arranging regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle, planning each route based on road and traffic conditions and managing payments. Ultimately, you will help us increase customer satisfaction, making sure clients depend on us to get material to the job site on time. To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with minimal traffic violations. There are some long trips, and occasional overnight hotel stays. That will be paid by the company. You will be asked to assist other in the shop when you are not on deliveries. Steel toe boots/shoes are a necessity. Jeans, or work pants are preferred metal is sharp and the pants can keep safe. Responsibilities Being on time for deliveries. There will be some early mornings. Keeping track of paperwork, receipts, and signatures for deliveries Proven experience as a Driver A valid driver’s license A clean driving record Pass a background check Ability to lift heavy packages. Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts A polite and professional disposition Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations
