Hello, I am looking for a singer with a special voice that would want to record a song of mine. What’s the Gig here? I play bass and have been since 1980. The Lord gave me a melody about a year ago when I was in a rough place. It brought me out and I have been working on it ever since. I am pleased with how the song has turned out; so pleased that I am willing to pay the cost to record it and post a video of the band performing the song on YouTube. What’s the Song About? The song is about a person looking back on their memories of their spouse. Looking at the joy that was brought into his / her life. This song can be sung by a man or a woman. The lyrics are simple, innocent and universal and I believe almost all people can relate to. What Does the Song Sound Like? Music: Upbeat song, medium tempo. Voice Performance Style? I keep going back to a night club singer. This is older style music; 50's singing style to modern beat. Righteous Brothers style singer, out there, in front pouring their heart out, happy, emotional, you really sing and show your feelings from the bottom of your heart. There is a part in the song that is similar to The Who’s - Reign o'er me – middle part. On the dry and dusty road The nights we spend apart alone I need to get back home to cool, cool rain I can't sleep, and I lay, and I think The night is hot and black as ink Woo, oh God, I need a drink of cool, cool rain That’s The Idea, that’s what I need. Someone who can and wants to sing like that. What am I looking for? I am looking for a man or woman who can breathe life into my lyrics. This is a vocalist’s song and it's all about feeling! I need someone to do what I can’t do. There are a lot of great voices out there that might be interested and might want to do this. A Church Singer maybe? I am Looking for the right voice for this song. I recorded an album back in the day and it was a great experience. I hope that there are a few people that would be interested in considering doing this gig. Song is about 5 minutes long.
