This module looks at the impact of trauma on a child's life by addressing the essential skills of trauma-informed care, defining types of traumas, and examining the impact of trauma on typical child development. The module also helps the participant understand and navigate traumatized children's emotional and behavioral needs by introducing practical strategies and tools within the seven essential skills of trauma-informed care.
4 Key Essential Skills of Module One:
Increasing awareness of the impact of traumaPresent strategies to increase felt safetyIntroduce tools to reduce overwhelming emotionsDefine strategies to help youth manage their own behaviors Who is it for? Anyone that works or cares for a child with a trauma history.
